The Eastern Mediterranean Petrochemicals Refining and Industry and Trade Inc. signed a contract with Shaw Group over Adana Eastern Mediterranean Refinery project for service procurement of Project Management Consultancy.
DAPRAS (the Eastern Mediterranean Petrochemicals Refining and Industry and Trade Inc.), an affiliated company of Çalık Enerji within the portfolio of Çalık Group agreed to a deal with Shaw Group, one of the world's leading companies, over project management consultancy of petrochemical and refinery facilities to be established in Yumurtalik, Adana.
A Project to Add Value to Turkey
Having noted to aim at producing for both local and regional markets of petroleum products at the refinery to be established, Çalık Enerji's General Manager Dr. Saim Dinc continued: "The refinery designed with a capacity of up to 212 thousand barrels a day will be able to process crude oil transported from various sources such as Iraq, Russia and the Caspian Sea. Estimated to employ 7 thousand people for construction, the Eastern Mediterranean Petrochemicals and Refining Project will also provide employment for around 15 hundred people for operation."
A Major Collaboration
Shaw Group's President of Energy and Chemicals Mr. Lou Pucher said: "We take great pleasure and feel excited about having taken over such an important project. The Eastern Mediterranean Petrochemical and Refinery Project is one of the top collaborations in Turkey where we have run more than 50 projects for four decades".
