Operating in textile, construction and energy in Turkmenistan for many years, Çalık Holding will construct 3 power plants with natural gas turbines in Turkmenistan.
Having won the tender held by Turkmenergo authority affiliated to the Turkmenistan Ministry of Energy and Industry, Çalık Enerji will construct 3 power plants for a total sum of USD 421 million and 475 thousand. Construction operations for the power plants to be located in Ak Bugday, Serdarabat district of Lebap and Saparmurat Turkmenbasi, Mary will be kicked off in May.
The power plants will generate 149,2 megawatt, 146,7 megawatt and 141,7 megawatt of energy respectively. It is estimated that the construction for these power plants will be completed in February 2014.
Having previously built 6 power plants in the country, Çalık Enerji won the tender for the first phase of the project related to the modernization of the electrical energy industry of the entire country and for steady supply of electrical energy for the capital city of Ashgabat.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan exports electricity to Iran and Afghanistan. In addition, the state has been making arrangements to export electricity to Tajikistan, Pakistan and Armenia.
