Activities in the 254 MW "Watan Simple Cycle Power Plant" Project, which is undertaken in the city of Beýik Türkmenbasy in the Lebap Region of Turkmenistan, are on-going at full speed.
Within the project, the GT-2's first ignition was performed on May 15, 2016, while the system was supplied with 120 MW power at full-load with GT-2 through the switchyard for the first time on May 17, 2016.
Settled on a quite challenging location, all stages in the project are being conducted in a high-quality fashion. The Watan Project is planned to be completed 6 months before the contract date and the operationalization is projected to take place in June, while the related opening activities are being carried out simultaneously.
We would like to thank all Çalık Enerji personnel that contributed in this process for their efforts.
