Lebap State Power Plant with LM 6000 Gas Turbines with an Output of 149.2 MW, which has been constructed by Çalık Enerji, has been put into service as a part of a magnificent ceremony attended by the President of Turkmenistan. The 149.2 MW Lebap State Power Plant which has been constructed by Çalık Enerji in Turkmenistan and generated electricity via its LM 6000 gas turbines has been successfully launched. The opening ceremony held for the power plant construct in the City of Lebap, Turkmenistan was attended by His Excellency Mr. Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. After having received information from officials about the plant, the President then officially kicked off the power generation at the plant. Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, was welcomed by a folklore show at the opening ceremony. In addition, the opening ceremony was also attended by the Vice Presidents in charge of the Cabinet, Vice President in Charge of Power, Çalık Holding's Chairman Mr. Ahmet Çalık, Çalık Enerji'sGeneral Manager Mr. Osman Saim Dinç, GE Energy Regional President Mr. Ricardo Cordoba, Energy Minister and Ministry employees, Çalık Enerji top level managers and executives and executives of companies running business in Turkmenistan as well as a large number of citizens. Stating that the power would be generated from natural gas by means of new generation turbines LM 6000, Çalık Holding's Chairman Mr. Ahmet Çalık said in a statement to the Turkmen television: "Thanks to this type of investments, Turkmenistan has now become a country which is self sufficient in energy production and attained a position enabling it to export electricity to the neighboring countries". Çalık Enerji has successfully launched a total of 8 Power Plants in Turkmenistan so far.
