Gaining ground to grow into a worldwide company with operations in energy, telecom, finance, textile, construction, mining and media, Çalık Holding engages in another huge cooperation in oil trade for the Mediterranean and Turkish markets.
Upon an agreement between Çalık Enerji and Russian state oil company Rosneft after lengthy talks, the parties kicked off endeavors to establish a joint company for oil trade across Turkey and the Mediterranean.
Çalık Holding's Chairman Ahmet Çalık and Rosneft's President Eduard Khudainatov signed a framework agreement the night before at Ciragan Palace. The ceremony was attended by Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Mr. Taner Yıldız, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Mr. Igor Sechin.
Çalık Holding's Chairman Ahmet Çalık said that the company signed a deal with Rosneft for trade of oil and petroleum products. Rosneft's President Mr. Khudainatov indicated that the ongoing successful cooperation between two companies would now go to the next level.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Mr. Sechin pointed out that the cooperation between Turkey and Russia would increasingly grow and that the oil deal was a part of the cooperation. "Turkey is our strategic partner around the region" said Sechin. The joint company will run operations for oil trade across the Mediterranean as well as oil distribution and trade in Turkey. Çalık Enerji and Rosneft will sell bunker fuel (fuel for vessels) in addition to oil distribution in Turkey.
Çalık Enerji has attained outstanding success in international tenders of oil called by Rosneft for almost one year. Making a splash for success in tenders that the world's top oil companies bid for, Çalık Enerji loads oil cargo on a monthly basis, and makes sales all around the world.
