Signatures were appended for the electricity transmission line project that will progress in parallel with the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan natural gas pipeline project, which is recognized as the most important energy project of Asia. The project worth US$ 1.6 billion, to be managed by Çalık Holding, is one of the most important projects that a Turkish company has undertaken in Asia.
The signing ceremony for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) Project was held with the attendance of the Ashraf Ghani, the President of Afghanistan, Oğuzhan Ertuğrul, the Ambassador of Turkey in Kabul, and Ahmet Çalık, the Board Chairman of Çalık Holding, at the Presidential Palace in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul.
Continuing to export electricity to Afghanistan and Iran, Turkmenistan will start selling electricity to the Southeast Asia countries with the electricity transmission project that will progress in line with the natural gas pipeline. TAP Project is expected to be completed within 3 years after it is launched.
