During the first quarter of 2016, oil exploration took place at Güney Çalıktepe oil field, located between Diyarbakır and Mardin provinces, at the south of Bismil district and north of Savur district.
In order to increase the output and define the limits of saturated oil reservoirs, the drilling of the Güney Çalıktepe - 3 exploration well started on April 30, 2017 after the Güney Çalıktepe - 2 exploration well.
The primary target level is Ordovician-age Bedinan streaking sands, which is called the reservoir level.
Currently, the drilling of the Güney Çalıktepe - 3 exploration well continues at the 110th meter within Hoya formation. The drilling of the Güney Çalıktepe - 3 exploration well is planned to go 2300 meters deep and take 45 to 50 days. After the completion of drilling, production activities will take place.
