Çalık Enerji has taken over the construction of Gardabani combined power cycle plant that is one of the top investments for the Georgian energy industry in recent years. The signing ceremony was attended by Georgian Minister of Energy, Kaka Kaladze, the Chairman of JSC Partnership Fund, Irakli Kovzanadze, Director General of GOGC, David Tvalabeishvili, and Çalık Enerji's Business Development Director, Halil Sarıbay.
Located 35 km away from Tbilisi, Gardabani combined power cycle plant is the top investment of the Georgian energy industry in recent years. General Electric turbine will be used at the combined cycle power plant at a capacity of 230 MW, and the power plant will generate power within 740 days. The investment made by Çalık Enerji will provide added value to the relations and the economic cooperation between Turkey and Georgia.
Çalık Enerji was ranked the 129th contracting company of the world in the ENR's list for the year 2012. The Company climbed up to the 111th rank in the list as of 2013.
